The problem
For most people with epilepsy, seizures arrive without warning. That unpredictability restricts everything: where they can go, whether they can drive, live alone, swim, work at height, or sleep without fear.
Yet seizures are not instantaneous events. The brain enters a measurable pre-ictal state several minutes before onset — a window that is, in principle, detectable. The Seizure Detector is built to find that window and use it.
How it works

The wearable sits on the wrist and runs 24/7, sampling multiple biomarker streams simultaneously. No interaction required from the patient.

Onboard signal processing identifies the converging pre-ictal pattern across all monitored channels — the characteristic combination that precedes a seizure.

The device vibrates silently and triggers an alert in the Health Tracker app. Designated caregivers and emergency contacts are notified automatically.

The patient has time to move to a safe location, take rescue medication if prescribed, and alert someone nearby — before the seizure occurs.
The science
Heart rate variability
Autonomic nervous system changes occur before seizure onset. HRV disruptions detected by the device indicate the brain entering a pre-ictal state.
Cortisol levels
Stress hormone fluctuations correlate with seizure susceptibility. Continuous cortisol monitoring through the skin provides an additional predictive signal.
Skin conductance
Electrodermal activity reflects subtle changes in sympathetic nervous system arousal that precede many seizure types.
